Coron, Palawan: My 2015 Birthday Travel

There is beauty in this world that only the human eye can capture.

This was my biggest realization when I went on a trip to Coron, Palawan with C around mid-August last year. It was a 5D4N trip divided into two parts—the first part spent in the town proper doing tours and island hopping and the second part spent in Club Paradise, one of the island resorts in Coron.

So much has been said about the beauty of Palawan, of Coron specifically, and there is a lot of information about the place online. However, the actual experience of being there is something that can’t be given justice by any description in any book or website.

Coron is a magnificent place—it is well preserved despite tourism growing to become the primary driver of economy in the area. The town is a mix of the old and the new, with bamboo and wooden houses standing side by side the new concrete buildings and establishments being built to cater to the growing number of tourists visiting Coron every year.

Outside the town, there is still so much greenery, mountains and trees everywhere, with hectares of undeveloped land holding an allure that no high-tech gadget can capture. Below was our travel itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Busuanga and travel to Coron (AM) | Town tour (PM)

Day 2: Island hopping tour

Day 3: Continuation of town tour (AM) | Transfer to Club Paradise (before lunch)

Day 4: Beach life in Club Paradise

Day 5: More beach (AM) | Back to Manila (PM)
